There are 16 regions in Ghana with wonderful and delightful places to visit.

The Northern region of Ghana has many tourist destinations that will blow your mind. For starters, the Mole National Park will give you some of the best wildlife adventures. Apart from that, you will get to experience the Larabanga Mosque and Salaga town. Salaga was an important town along the slave trade route from the Northern portions of Ghana and Burkina Faso. So, whether it’s for multi-day tours, cultural tours, or nature and wildlife, the Northern region of Ghana is a must-visit.

The Volta region is another place to consider touring. It is home to the largest artificial lake, Lake Volta. It also offers several adventurous undertakings like hikes to the peak of Mount Afadzato, the highest mountain in Ghana. You can also enjoy boat cruises on the lake, fishing, music, and go bird-watching at Shai Hills.

The Ashanti region is one of the most popular places in Ghana, with a plethora of cultures and history to experience. To this day, the ancient kingdom of Ashanti remains a renowned tourist destination. The Asante Kingdom's King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, resides in the Manhyia palace which you can visit. You can also go to one of the country's largest markets, Kejetia where you may get a real sense of what it's like to shop on a daily basis. The Ntonso craft village, Bonwire (the town where the first Kente cloth was created), Lake Bosomtwe (Ghana's only natural lake), and the Bobiri butterfly sanctuary are all places worth seeing in the Ashanti region.
